I filtri dell'olio K&N per auto e moto sono apprezzati per la loro durata e la facilità di sostituzione. La maggior parte dei filtri dell'olio ha sul guscio un dado saldato, che ne consente la sostituzione con gli strumenti abituali.
I filtri dell'olio K&N hanno molte caratteristiche che superano i requisiti abituali della maggior parte dei veicoli. Utilizziamo un materiale più spesso per il guscio, aumentando così la resistenza alle forature. La struttura robusta resiste a una maggiore pressione dell'olio (in ambiente di gara), senza causarne la rottura. Il foro praticato nel dado serve a stringere una fune di sicurezza, necessaria in alcuni tipi di gare. Il filo impedisce al filtro danneggiato di cadere su una pista, dove potrebbe costituire un pericolo per gli altri veicoli.
